Sylvia Buck Hoover was born on September 28, 1825, in Tennessee. She married Benjamin Franklin Hoover in 1847. They had 11 children in 22 years. She died having lived for more than 100 years. She died on June 3, 1941, in Alameda, California, at the age of 115.
